Louises's Backyard Bar-B-Que Sauce
The recipe for Louise's Bar-B-Que sauce was developed by my mother in Selma, Alabama, during the 1930's. She and her parents used it, as well as her nine sisters and three brothers, as a sauce for the ribs, chicken, and other meats that were cooked on a makeshift grill. However, on holidays they took turns cooking the meat in each other's backyards. Hence, in September of 2025 the name "Louises's Backyard Bar-B-Que Sauce". The recipe has remained the same for almost 100 years.
